I had to go to down town this morning so I thought I would drop into Oxfam (again).
As a result I ended up coming away with a bunch of what I am fairly sure are Lamming SYW figures.
There are 20 Prussian Jager types.
The second unit consisted of 25 Musketers, a few had broken bayonets, 5 drummers and 2 officers.
One of the signs that these figures are Lamming is the the nobly, grass like, effect on the bases.
I did compare these figures with some Les Higgins Marlburian and they are a tad bigger.
Our Oxfam NEVER has anything as exciting as this , sigh !
ReplyDeleteI doubt any Oxfam has had such exciting offerings. A few years ago I picked up a copy of a the diplomacy game for £2 at the same shop.
DeleteWow! This is almost as good as The Antique Roadshow. Very nicely painted.

I had thought that all of Bill Lammings figures looked like Bill Lamming. Certainly his medievals did.
ReplyDeleteThese don't have that look.
I checked Clives blog and he has the same figures listed.

I wonder if these and the Old Hinton Hunts I have picked up recently were bought at the Old Northern Garrison shop in Knaresborough as its nit far from Ilkley.
On the contrary Mark - you must KEEP going to the Oxfam shop as this is just too much fun!
ReplyDeleteThe drummers are a giveaway. That's a very Lamming-esque pose!
