Ilkley Old School
Well done , that would not be a bad price for one building. Did you know that Triang bought up a small company which made soft rubber squeaky toys of the type made now for pets. (when I was a child we played with them but simpler times!)Having got the company, typically for British industry in the sixties they could not think of a way that the product fitted in their portfolio so they got them making these buildings. If you pick one up the squeaky toy lineage is fairly obvious. In any case I think the result is completely charming. They were only produced for 18 months or so.PS if you know this to be a wargames urban myth, please don't tell me, modern life is boring enough as it is.
Well done! Now all you need are some of the old Merit trees. Terribly envious here (but pleased for you).Best Regards,StokesStokes
Going in full retro mode at the moment Mark, love it!Graham
A splendid addition your gaming.
A great find, be careful how you store them as being rubbery they are prone to getting brittle and cracking ,T
Great find, nice buildings
I'm surprised that they survived this long. I seem to remember them being fairly thick and rubbery. Good find.
A great find Mark - I had the church as a kid for my model railway but it saw more action with my toy soldiers! I also had some of the rubber poplar trees they produced. Sady neither have survived.
