Hinton Hunt AN 102 - Painted

I finished the Austrian figure this morning and applied a coat of gloss varnish. Its been a long time since I have used black ink for lining. I used off white for the coat and this has turned out well.

I am going to start cleaning up the rest of my Hinton Hunt/early 20mm minifigs and start renovating them.

I am going to order a few recast HH from John Cunningham to add a few more units.

Good as new, if not better.

To borrow a phrase, "He's the very model of a modern Major General!" Are Hinton Hunt figures available again? If so, where can I order some to fill in some holes in my collection?

John Cunningham has a few figures available as recasts. I am about to order a few myself. For command I am going to use SHQ.

Yes, John is very helpful there.

I'd be interested in swapping HH and DK figures if you have spares. I can provide a list of my spares if you wish.

I only have 54 original HH figures myself so dont really hsve any spares. I bought these from HH little shop at Pierrepont Arcade in Islington.

Lovely work Mark!

I'm sure your 54 will soon multiply.

Perhaps if you had mail ordered some from Marcus H around the time of Camden Passage they might still be on their way!

Well done, a beautiful figure indeed!

So there was somebody else buying Austrians from the Pierrepont Arcade. I'm more than pleased to have discovered that. I never grew up sufficiently to put my lads into a box in the shed but spent decades trying to find compatible 20mms. RSMs proved to be a bit too small but, as you have discovered, SHQs do the job. I have quite a lot of spare SHQ Austrian infantry if you are at all interested. I like your rendering of AN102. More power to your reinvigorated endeavours.

Hi Archduke

Why dont you drop me a line. I used Red Rover Bus tickets to visit Pierrepoint Arcade as well as Tradition in Piccadilly and Suren in Sloane Square.
